Ever since seeing river anglers fishing in the Credit river, Anton has admired the art-in-motion that is fly fishing. The flies themselves are also tiny little beautiful creations that take both skill and creativity to construct. What began as a reference series evolved to original creative experimentation with color and texture. Like flowers, flies can be bold, bright and beautiful; the objective is to evoke feelings of joy, optimism and hope.
Anton lives in Port Credit, Ontario with his wife and four year old son. Much of his artistic expression has historically been through performance art but the pandemic has presented both the time and inspiration to develop in the visual arts space, something that has always interest him. Anton's inspiration is developed though the mediums he works with, specifically reclaimed cedar. Van Gogh and Monet are major early influences on Anton's landscape work as he adapts his own voice and style.
